On Friday, 16th May 2025, The 4th Hillingdon Boys' Brigade held their Open Night at Hayes End Methodist Church. Parents, Guardians, and Friends gathered along with the Guests of Honour for the evening; Councillor Stuart Mathers ( Local Ward Councillor ) , David Brough ( Chair Hayes Town Partnership), Rev Ken Kingston Company Chaplain.
Captain David Kingston led the Guests of Honour into the Church Hall where a formal parade of the Company took place.
Next each age group put on an item; Anchors enacted 'A Normal Friday Anchor Meeting in 6 minutes' to show how much is packed into the Anchors evening, and the fun they have.
Juniors put on 2 Games from the International Team Games event they had just taken part in (coming 192 out of 259 teams). Two teams were formed with our own Minster, Ken Kingston and a parent joining in with true sportsmanship spirits. A draw was recorded between the two teams. Each team winning one game each.
The Seniors, demonstrated two challenges they had participated, as part of the Boys' Brigade National Challenge Event. Again, a lot of fun was had by the Seniors each team winning one game each.
All members received a prize in the Anchors, whilst the Juniors and Seniors received their BB Badges presented to them by our Guests of Honour. Our Guests of Honour then said a few words and were presented with gifts from the Company as a thank you for giving up their time to attend the event. Rev Ken Kingston led our Devotions with the Theme " Living Life To The Max".
Finally, a Bring and Share Meal, which had been provided by all the members of the Company, was shared by everybody which brought a very successful evening to a close.
Since that evening, we are proud to report that a photograph with the Guests of Honour and the Company Staff Team, from the Open Night appeared in the Hayes News - thanks to David Brough.
Thank you
David Kingston
