Following the easing of lock down restrictions and progressing along the Governments
Road map, as well as following the Boys Brigade guidelines, and operating within the COVID 19 requirements. Also gaining permission from the Church following a review and up dating of the Company Log, and each Sections Risk Assessment. The Company was allowed to welcome back the members for face to face meetings at Hayes End Methodist Church.
The Juniors was the first group back meeting on Wednesday 21st April 2021 from 7.00p.m. till 8.00pm., followed by the Anchors on Friday 23rd April 2021 at 5.30 p.m. till 6.30 p.m., and finally the Seniors also on Friday 23rd April 2021 meeting at 8.00 p.m. till 9.30 p.m. All age groups had a good first night and the Staff were pleased with the number of members that attended in each Section after such along time apart, with the prospect of membership numbers increasing in each Section as we continue to meet each week, from now till July 2021.
I do feel that the membership has responded in this positive way due to the hard work of the Company Staff remaining in contact with boys through out Lock Down via the use of #BBatHome (Virtual Sessions) for the Anchors and Juniors, and WhatsApp talks for the Seniors.
We still face many Challenges in the Company including trying to fill the financial loss of approximately £1000 that COVID 19 Pandemic has caused. But we have been working hard applying for various grant support to try and fill this deficit, as well as making the sad decision of having to sell our BB Minibus, due to the drain on the Company finances with its running costs.
To finish on a positive note and to Quote one of the Junior members on the first night, “Its nice to be back and see my friends, the Fun and Games are extra”.
I will keep up dating the news on the Company how things progress through the remaining part of Session 2020/2021, including various activities each Section will be doing as part of their Summer Programme.
Please hold the Company, and the work of the Boys Brigade in your prayers.
God Bless you all, and please Stay Safe.
