Anchor Boys

A boy may join The Anchor Boys as soon as he reaches his 5th birthday, and at the end of School Year 3. Membership is open to those of all faiths and none,
but the values of Christianity underpin our objectives
and is in support of the local community.  

THE EMPHASIS OF THE PROGRAMME
Fast and fun activities underpinned by Christian values.
Programme includes sports, games, crafts, music, badge work, cookery, challenges and Christian values. Boys may also take part in various joint activities with other Anchor Boy groups.

WEEKLY MEETINGS
Held at Hayes End Methodist Church
every Friday during School term from 5.30pm to 6.30pm.
Please note entrance to The Hall & Rooms is in Church Close
on the right hand side of The Church.

LOOKING TO JOIN?
Fortunately at the moment we don’t have a waiting list
and so are in a position to accept new members. We encourage Boys and Parents to come along and see what happens at a normal Friday night meeting.
Then if a Boy decides to join The Anchor Boys he will receive a “Welcome Pack” which includes a members application and parental consent form, a uniform order form and a copy of The Anchor Boys “Code of Behaviour”.

Boys who join The Anchor Boys are expected
to attend regularly the weekly meetings and
our Brigade Family Services held once a quarter.
On Sundays Boys are also expected to attend either our
11am Junior Church Meetings or their own Church’s Junior Church facilities.
A high standard of behaviour is demanded of all members.  
The weekly subscription is £1.60.
A warm welcome awaits all new members.

Mobirise

JUNIORS

Aged 8 to 11 years ( School Year 4 to 6) boys may join The Juniors or get promoted from the Anchor Boys section. At the end of School Year 6, a Junior will be promoted into The Seniors.

ACTIVITIES
in The Juniors include sports, games, crafts, marching, music, badge work, cookery, gymnastics, drama and Christian devotions. Boys may also take part in various outings, competitions and joint activities with other Junior Groups.

WEEKLY MEETINGS
are held at Hayes End Methodist Church
every Wednesdays during School term from 7.00pm to 8.00pm.
Please note entrance to The Hall & Rooms is in Church Close
on the right hand side of The Church.

SENIORS

A Boy or Young Man aged 12 (School Year 7) or more may join The Seniors. Weekly Meetings are held at Hayes End Methodist Church every Friday during School Term time from 8.00pm to 9.30pm at a weekly subscription is £2.50.

THE PROGRAMME
in The Seniors offers an exciting and varied range of activities designed to challenge and develop the individual both physically and spiritually. A Friday evening is divided into 3 zones.

THE KNOWLEDGE ZONE
includes life skills and educational items such as road hazard awareness, first aid, preparing a CV and job application, student cooking. In addition we hold a modern spiritual devotional and uniform inspection.

THE ACTIVITY ZONE
includes both mental and physical activities such as team challenges, quizzes, circuit training and craft activities.

THE SPORTS ZONE
includes a wide mix of sports and gam options including football, hockey, handball, gymnastics plus a wide variety of indoor games including snooker, pool, darts and table tennis. A Tuck Shop is also available.
The programme also allows young men to earn badges, and we organise regular outings, competitions and special events.

JOINING
We invite young men to visit one of our meetings to see what is on offer and if he decides to the join The Seniors he will receive a “Welcome Pack” which includes a members application and parental consent form, a uniform order form and a copy of The Senior rules.
